Tanjung Tuan, Port Dickson – 8 Nov 2014
Chris and Scott contacted me via Fishyology.com to set a fishing trip in Port Dickson. I was lucky that I manage to get a boat on short notice and look forward to share Tanjung Tuan, Port Dickson jigging outing. The start of the day was not what I had in mind. It was raining heavily when I drove from Kajang all the way to Port Dickson. I feared for the worst that if the rain continues, we not might be able to head out to sea.
Still give it a go, pickup Scott and Chris at the Avillion Port Dickson and we head out the the Jetty. The rain does not intensify further thus there is a good chance that it might stopped raining late into the morning session. We prepare all our rigs, showed them how to tied a Fluorocarbon on to a braided line. We go through the fundamental of jigging which are not a famous technique among westerners. We head out to sea quite late around 10am, the condition was ok but still light drizzle from the jetty to our first jigging spot. Really hoped that condition would improve further so that we can begin our jigging session safely.
Begin our morning session and it was not long when Chris hooked a huge Queenfish. Battle was intense but brief as the fish manage to break the shock leader. It showed itself with stunning acrobatic jump and it was huge. Probably weighing more than 3kg. Good start and keep their morale up for the rest of the day.

Heavy winds starts to create huge swell, worst I’ve ever experience fishing in Port Dickson. Queenies are still around and we continue on fishing. Scott finally scored two in the morning session and it was great fun on light tackle. Chris on the other hand lost another fish. I suspect it was a Mackerel as dives relentlessly without Chris being able to stop it. Its a shame the condition got worst in the evening and I’m not able to take any picture as I feared sea water would damage my camera.
Really hoped that we can try again in January as we had score to settle in Port Dickson. Luckily I manage to capture a short video of Scott battling his first Queenie of Port Dickson, again apologize for the lack of content of this post.
