FISH VALLEY, SEMENYIH – 26 JUL 2014
It was the last week of Ramadhan, Badrul texted me that Asrazi is heading to Fish Valley, Semenyih. Well I decided to join Asrazi, Hanif and Shahrizal for some Toman outing at FV latest attraction the Toman casting pond. Apparently this trip were organized by the Ikanzclothing members, thus this is going to be a great opportunity to make new friends and support our Angling community.
This trip was on Saturday, 2 days before our Hari Raya celebration in Malaysia. They have decided to go for the morning session and will start fishing around 7am. I was there around 7.30am and they are off to a slow start. It was rather different during my last trip with Andrew Griffin and Badrul. Last time Toman are far more frenzies in the morning and they would take any surface lures that are thrown at them. This time I guess Toman were not keen enough to take surface lures.

Morning session now begins, as Asrazi started with Feed Bell poppers as well as other top water lures. As mentioned earlier, Toman are not feisty enough to take on surface lure. Asrazi switched from lures to Ima Gunpeki micro jigs and the move almost landed a Toman but it manage to escape from the hook. A couple of cast later with soft plastic lure display the same result, twice the Giant Snake Head manage to escape and live to fight another day haha.
Hanif an Shahrizal started their morning session with each of them landed a Giant Snakehead @ Toman with diving lures. We moved to their location situated near to the feeding area. By the time we got there, Hanif landed another GSH @ Toman. During the first hour 3 hours they manage to land 3 GSH @ Toman.

Hanif has been getting more hits then the rest and I notice that he always cast in the area where the Giant Snake Head has just rises. Casting at the right spot definitely improve bite chances. Basically he is applying the same technique that are being told by other anglers and I guess the technique can be applied in Toman paid ponds or wild Toman. It works for top water plugs and even diving lures.

More Toman and Baung hits during the final hour marking this as one of the best outing in Fish Valley, Semeyih. Soft plastic lure really is one of the best choice if you are heading to the Toman pond. This trip also showcase 2 of Evergreen Heracles casting rods which is used by Asrazi (Daiwa J-Dream 5.3 and Evergreen Heracles “Blue Meister”) Hanif (Daiwa Steez SV and Evergreen Heracles “The Manipulator”). Shahrizal used a Daiwa Ryoga paired with Jackall Nero casting rod. All three rods works perfectly for this pond although not really tested to the max, it showcase the undoubtedly great quality rods that are available in Malaysian market.

We ended the day at 11.00am. Fish Valley Toman catch and release pond only opens on weekend and public holidays with an admission fees of RM100 for 4 hours. Morning session begins at 7am – 11am and evening session starts at 3pm – 7pm. You can check my previous post on the exact location of this pond. Thanks for the nice pix. I used to go down there alot, but since harga petrol naik, seldom visit. They keep raising the prices also. Your Toman is giving me motivation to try though haha!
Welcome bro. Where are you staying? actually you can end the session later then 11am. Mula2 je diorang jaga betul2 now x jaga sgt haha. Bring a couple of Grub SP and you will be hitting a lot of toman 🙂
