TELUK KEMANG, PORT DICKSON – 30 MARCH 2014
First jigging trip to Port Dickson in 2014! Last time visited this place was back in September with Izzudin and Andrew where we had an average outing last time, hoping that we could hit a great number of Queenfish today. Lot of things improve in terms of jetty condition where they have bathing rooms, new toilets, improve cleanliness and the most important upgrade was Captains Apek boat now has roof! YEAY!! Finally, we can stay out from the hot sun during the middle of the day.
Today Andrew, Badrul and Eddie joined me for our quest in jigging Queenfish and many other species. Izzudin, Asrazi and Go Pancing Malaysia Team also joined in on another boat. It was a surprise because Izzuddin was suppose to head to Rompin but they have to canceled the trip last minute. This trip we made some alteration in our strategy, Andrew will be drifting live bait hoping to catch Tenggiri in the area. With promising photos showed by Apek a day before our trip, we might hit jackpot today. Weather was perfect and soon we are off to our spot, Vikram!

Badrul and Andrew are ready to go and Captain Apek pulling the anchor!

Eddie’s first trip to Port Dickson 🙂
Apeks new boat was wayyyy better then last time. It is surely much more stable when ripping across the waves and the best part was definitely the roof. Soon we arrive at our usual spot and we can see some Queenie is chasing bait fish on top of the water and soon we continue to cast our jigs. It was a bit unusual as after countless casts, they don’t seems to be interested with our metal jigs.
Soon after a while, i decided to drop the jig to bottom and soon after few drops, I manage to hook one queenie. It feels good haha. After a few aggressive runs deep try to free it self. Finally manage to land fish no 1! But something happen that is beyond my expectation. I just couldn’t stand the smell of fish and my head was swirling and soon I was knocked out. Haha!

Ima Gunpeki Jigs are simply Awesome!

Now with a lending net, it is suitable to ensure the fish is not hurt when we want to released it back into the water

Nice health Talang!

Why two pictures of this Talang? Coz is the first fish to kick my Ass haha.. Darn
It was not long until Badrul manage to hook one talang from the depth of Port Dickson sea hehe. Testing his new rod the Zen Zagan PE 0.6-1.5 was a real stunner! The rod does seems to able to load huge pressure and some rare cases over the internet suggest that the rod can easily snapped even when cast jigs. We ended the day with no further catches. GPM team manage to land 7 Queenies. Andrew did not manage drift bait fish as there are no bait fish to begin with.

Look how it bends.. not bad
