JUGRA SW FISHING POND, BANTING – 20 OCT 2013

Jugra SW Pond Scenery
Back in April, Fishyology visited a saltwater pond in Jugra that offers catch and release entry. We were delighted with our first trip however we wished the stocked was larger than average 600-800g haha. It catches my attention when Nasir posted a decent size Barramundi @ Siakap in Facebook and happy to know Badrul and Nasir will heading to Jugra for another SW action. I did not manage to join this outing as I was fishing in Puchong for Toman. Badrul was happy to share his pictures and hopefully I can rewrite some story of their Jugra Outing.

Fish ON!! Siakap on the end of the line
The location of this pond is situated deep in Jugra. You might need to do some research if you guys are interested to visit this place. The entry fees is RM30 if I’m not mistaken for CnR entry. Common bait that you can use is minnow lures or soft plastic grubs. Any color would do, a light setting is good enough to handle all specimen in this pond.
Personally using soft plastic is easier to lure Barramundi @ Siakap to take our bait as it resembles small fish or prawn which is part of their common diet. They do take hard lures only if they are keen enough in hitting hard baits. Last time we landed more than 20 Barramundi @ Siakap but it was small in size. Now they have stocked larger Barra’s that will definitely give some fun to anglers.
Three fish, not bad for a weekend fun but with additional species like Grouper would definitely place Jugra SW Fishing Pond as one of the hottest place for avid anglers. Stay tuned for more action from our team. Since weather conditions is not permitting us to go to sea. We have scheduled some FW action for the end of October and November plus with our SW outing in December. Thanks for reading, if you have anything share just comment my post or email me directly. Thank you!!

Cloudy day!

Hey, just wanted to say that i bump into your friend Nasir on the same day at the pond. We chat for a short while admiring his Majorcraft rod. We were fishing over at the grouper (kerapu) pond, and managed 10+ over hookups for CNR, and we bought home 3 groupers.
The groupers isn’t very nice tasting… meat a bit hard.
They have more than one pond now? last time when i visited there was only 2 dedicated pond for fishing as well as CnR. The grouper pond, how big are they (average)?
groupers, avg at about 1.5kg to 1.8kg a fish. we suspect that the jenahak pond still have a few bruiser grouper 3kg and above. landed a 3.8kg grouper there about a month or so back before they put in jenahak.
