Nasiruddin with his decent size Barramundi on minnow |
Back in August last year, I have posted my short casting trip in Bedong, Kedah at Thye Fishing Village. Since I won’t be heading back to my hometown in Kedah until late May, I decided to scout around any Barramundi Catch and Release pond located in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. After months of searching finally manage to pinpoint one location. Jugra which is located near Banting, Selangor has become a new location for Barramundi fishing. The pond I visited today is located next to RM3 Barramundi Pond. You can notice a huge sign stating “Umpan Udang”. The area is developed by local entrepreneur, breeding Barramundi for the local market.

The owners house is located next to the pond, I guess |
Today, Badrul Hisham and Hafiz Azmi joined my outing to try out this new pond along with two new friends, Kamarul Azhar and Nasiruddin. Apparently the management provide two options for anglers.
Option 1 : No entrance fee and time limit, but each catch must be weigh and anglers must pay their catch @ RM13 per kg.
Option 2 : RM30 as entrance fee, which covers 3 hours of fishing and all Barramundi must be safely released back in to the pond.
Daiko Spear ULS paired with Daiwa Luvias 2508H will be choice for today along with micro lures, spoons, soft plastics as bait. We also manage to test the effectiveness of Zerek SW Artificial Prawn.

Another baby Barramundi |
Soft plastic is the best choice in this pond. They just couldn’t resist Grub shaped SP. Two effective colors, green and white. We continue on fishing hoping to score a large size Barramundi. However this pond is stocked with 500g-900g size.

Certainly Nasir’s catch fits for this post cover photo. Thanks Azhar for the nice photo shot! |
We ended the day at 11am. With probably more than 15 Barramundi landed. This pond is filled with visitor on Sunday, mostly family spending their time together fishing for Barramundi. I believe it would be much more appropriate if CnR section is filled with larger size fish like in Thye Fishing Village. However, we had great time today and hopefully I will return in Jugra for more Barra Action!

Let’s head back to Kajang! |
