Baby Giant Snake Head or Toman on Yozuri Altima Spoon 7g |
Bukit Cerakah Fly Fishing & Casting Center is located in 1258ha of ecopark at Bukit Cerakah. The location is at the Empangan Air Kuning where they have a fishing center suited for the avid anglers. The rule was always Catch and Release and this fishing center is well known among fly fishing enthusiast in Malaysia. I have made some reviews on other blogs which suggest several species like Pacu, Red Tilapia, Giant Snake Head @ Toman, Hampala Barb @Sebarau & common snake head can be found at this fishing center. The entry rate would be RM20 per person per rod and we rent a boat to venture deeper into forest.
This will be a good opportunity to test my new Daiko Blue Spear Ultra Light Spinning rod with a rating of PE1-0.4. Ultra thin rod which I think is suitable for light casting small plugs and spoon.

Casting in this waters requires good observation and technique |
The lake is divided into two section. The first section is filled with Pacu’s and Tilapia for fly fishing activity. The second section I guess is for the casting activity where they only stock Toman. Fly Fishing technique might be the best technique when fishing in this lake as fishing with a pallet shaped fly made of animal fur can imitate food pallets. Casting for giant Toman might not be as easy as it looks. The only size we caught was 5-6 inch baby.

We end the day at 11.30am, with only two baby Toman. This has been a whole new experience to me and the team and surely we will return!!
